Shipping Policy
Avenue Fashion (a trade name of Nyota Imara Technologies, a general partnership registered in Kenya)
Effective Date: 1st July 2026
1. Overview
This Shipping Policy explains how Avenue Fashion processes, dispatches, and delivers your orders within Kenya. Our primary logistics partner is Jumia Logistics. By placing an order on our Platform, you agree to the terms set out in this policy.
2. Delivery Coverage
We currently deliver within Kenya only. Supported delivery counties and their specific regions are listed at checkout. Delivery zones are managed by our operations team; if your location is not available at checkout, it means we do not yet serve that area.
3. Order Processing
Orders are processed on business days (Monday to Saturday, excluding Kenyan public holidays).
- Orders placed and payment confirmed before 12:00 PM EAT on a business day are processed the same day.
- Orders placed or confirmed after 12:00 PM EAT are processed the following business day.
Your order will move to Processing status once payment is confirmed. You will receive an email and/or push notification at each stage of fulfilment.
4. Delivery Timelines
Estimated delivery timelines from the date of dispatch are as follows:

These are estimates and not guaranteed delivery dates. Timelines may be affected by factors outside our control, including carrier delays, public holidays, adverse weather, or high-volume periods such as sale events.
5. Delivery Fees
Delivery fees are calculated at checkout based on your selected county and specific region. Fees reflect Jumia Logistics carrier rates for the applicable delivery zone, based on a small package rate (maximum 5 kg) originating from Zone 1 (Nairobi).
You will see the exact delivery fee displayed before you confirm payment. Delivery fees are non-refundable unless the return is due to a fault or error on our part (see our Returns Policy).
6. Order Tracking and Notifications
Once your order is dispatched, you will receive a status update via:
- Email — sent to the address associated with your account
- Push notification — if you have enabled notifications on the Avenue Fashion mobile app
You can also view your order status at any time by logging into your account and navigating to your order history.
7. Delivery Attempts and Uncollected Packages
Our delivery partner will make reasonable attempts to deliver your order to the address provided at checkout. Please ensure your address is accurate and complete, including any relevant landmark or estate name, and that a recipient is available to receive the package.
Where delivery to your address is not possible and your package is held at a Jumia hub for collection, the following timelines apply:
- The recipient has 7 calendar days to collect the package from the destination hub.
- If not collected, the package is returned to the origin hub, where it is held for a further 7 calendar days for sender collection.
- If still uncollected, the package is transferred to Jumia's main warehouse and held for an additional 14 calendar days.
- After this total window of 28 days, any unclaimed package is considered abandoned and becomes the property of Jumia Logistics. Avenue Fashion cannot recover or refund abandoned packages.
Avenue Fashion is not responsible for failed deliveries or abandoned packages resulting from an incorrect or incomplete address, or from a recipient's failure to collect within the timelines above.
8. Carrier Restrictions and Prohibited Items
Jumia Logistics reserves the right to refuse items that are fragile or inadequately packaged. The following items cannot be shipped under any circumstances:
- Hazardous or flammable materials
- Live or dead animals
- Cash or negotiable instruments
- Controlled substances or drugs
- Firearms or weapons
- Any item prohibited under Kenyan law
Avenue Fashion does not list or facilitate the sale of prohibited items. No compensation will be provided for any package containing prohibited items, and the sender may be held liable under applicable law.
9. Loss, Damage, and Carrier Compensation
Avenue Fashion ships packages via Jumia Logistics under standard coverage. The following compensation limits apply in the event of loss or damage in transit:
- Standard coverage (no Premium Protection): In the event of loss or damage, compensation is limited to two times (2×) the value of the shipping fee paid for that package.
- With Premium Protection: In the event of loss, compensation is up to the declared value of the item or the equivalent price on the Jumia platform, whichever is lower. In the event of damage and return to origin, compensation is up to 75% of the item's value based on reconstitution value.
- Maximum compensation cap: Regardless of coverage level, the maximum compensation payable per package is KES 50,000, subject to change by Jumia Logistics at their discretion.
These limits are set by Jumia Logistics and are not within Avenue Fashion's control. Where you believe your order has been lost or damaged in transit, please contact us at support@avenuefashion.co.ke and we will raise a claim with the carrier on your behalf.
10. Third-Party Vendor Orders
Some items on the Platform are fulfilled by independent third-party Vendors. For Vendor-fulfilled orders, dispatch timelines may vary depending on the Vendor's location and stock availability. The estimated delivery timelines in Section 4 apply from the point the item is dispatched by the Vendor.
11. Delays and Exceptions
We cannot be held liable for delivery delays caused by:
- Acts of God or force majeure events
- Carrier or logistics partner disruptions
- Public holidays or industrial action
- Incorrect or incomplete address information provided by the customer

12. Risk and Title
Risk of loss and title for purchased items passes to you upon delivery to the address specified at checkout. Once a package is confirmed as delivered by our carrier, Avenue Fashion is not liable for items reported as missing or damaged thereafter.
